Carol Gray Johns
Johns has a Bachelors of Music in Music Education from the
University of North Alabama and has taught
Music for 21 years. The last 17 consecutive
years have been at Forest Hills Elementary
where she started the first show choir in
elementary schools in North Alabama in 1996.
It has been going strong with an average of
80 fourth graders since. This group performs
for various Florence City Schools and
community events throughout the school year.
She has been married to Marlin Johns, the
counselor at Weeden Elementary School, for
20 years. They have a 12-year-old son,
Grayson, who is in the Orff Ensemble and
plays drums in the band at Hibbett Middle
Mrs. Johns enjoys singing at church and
weddings, performing in musical theatre and
playing the flute.
